Altair Grid Engine (formerly Univa Grid Engine) is a workload scheduling and resource management solution designed for HPC professionals. It enables users to optimize the throughput and performance (of applications, containers, and services), manage shared compute resources across deployments (such as on-premise, hybrid, and cloud infrastructures), track and measure resource utilization with comprehensive reporting, migrate compute-intensive HPC workloads to the cloud, as well as implement a new multi-threaded central controller, new scheduling, and sharing policies. Features include core-binding, affinity scheduling, priority and utilization policies, resource tracking and monitoring, multiple workloads (Docker Intel KNL, NVIDIA, GPUs) management, and configurable quotas and limits.
