Cisco NCS 5500 is a series of network convergence system routers designed for network administrators and web service providers. It enables users to handle traffic growth with fixed or modular systems, manage complexity using the IOS XR Operating System platform, upgrade the system with multiple consumption models based on requirements, and reduce environmental impacts with systems delivering lower power consumption. Features include segment routing, 100 GbE and 400 GbE port density, application hosting, machine-to-machine interface, Ethernet loopback, and Telemetry support.
