OpenXR is an open standard for access to virtual reality and augmented reality platforms and devices designed for application developers targeting AR/VR hardware. It enables users to access directly the diverse XR device runtimes across multiple platforms, build an engine that can target both holographic and immersive devices, write code once that's then portable across a wide range of hardware platforms, connect the application directly to the headset's native platform, as well as develop an engine that can target both holographic and immersive devices. Features include core pose prediction, frame timing, articulated hand tracking, eye tracking, spatial mapping, and spatial input functionality.
