Description
Panasas PanFS is a SaaS-based data storage and management application designed for the entertainment, manufacturing, government and research sectors. It enables users to balance and optimize storage system; utilize in-built extension to manage parallel file access in the network file system; create PanFS clustered file system to support multiple applications and workflows in a single storage system; host the file system on third-party storage platforms; automate the tuning storage for small files and mixed workloads; maintain several types of metadata about files. Features include portable operating system interface (POSIX) compliant, automation, tiered storage architecture, N+2 encoding, network-distributed erasure codes, DirectFlow (pNFS), NFS and CIFS data access protocols.
