Cisco Nexus 5596UP Switch is a rack-mountable switch designed for the virtualized, unified, and high-performance computing (HPC) environments. It enables users to synchronize system clocks with an accuracy of less than one microsecond based on IEEE 1588, manage diverse data center deployments, configure switch level parameters such as the node name, date, and interface IP addresses, streamline network operations management, handle customer traffic in and out of the switch, as well as deploy synchronous transfer mode (ATM) techniques. Features include 2-rack-unit, 1/10 Gigabit Ethernet switch, forty-eight fixed Unified Ports on base chassis, throughput of up to 1.92 terabits/second, 1/2/4/8 native Fibre Channel, and storage traffic support.
