IBM Security Directory Server (formerly IBM Directory Server and IBM Tivoli Directory Server) is an authentication-based identity data infrastructure designed for database and IT administrators. It enables users to store directory information using DB2, manage the proxy server for routing LDAP operations to directory servers, build enterprise identity data infrastructure for applications, define new attributes and object classes, modify the schema content, define the level of authorization, determine the identity of the LDAP clients, as well as manage access control by specifying the access rights. Features include IETF LDAP V3 support, performance management, replication management, Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL), TLS support, proxied authorization, and password policy configuration.
