Description

Oracle Edition-based redefinition (EBR) is a database component of an application designed for database administrators. It enables users to manage online application upgrades with uninterrupted availability of the application, change data by writing only to new columns or new tables not seen by the old edition, keep both pre-upgrade and post-upgrade versions in sync, as well as make arbitrary changes to the set of artifacts implementing application’s database of record.
