Oracle Traffic Director (OTD) is an onboard Application Delivery Controller (ADC) designed for network administrators and engineers. It enables users to optimize application-to-application communication within Oracle’s engineered systems such as Exalogic (Linux, Solaris), SPARC SuperCluster, and WebLogic for Oracle Database Appliance as well as scale the environment with additional back-end servers. Features include WebSocket, TCP software load balancer, rule-based request routing and reverse proxy server, rate limiting, throttling and Quality of Service (QoS) tuning, monitoring, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) transactions, built-in WebLogic optimizations, and mod security based web application firewall.
