It enables users to analyze data in Amazon S3 using SQL; process logs, perform data analytics, and run interactive queries; define schema using the console wizard or by entering DDL statements; crawl data sources to discover data and populate Data Catalog with new and modified table and partition definitions automatically; and compress, partition, or convert data to a columnar format.
