Apache Flink is an open-source stream-processing framework designed for application developers. It enables users to control the runtime of any application on unbounded streams, internally process bounded streams by algorithms and data structures, optimize applications for local state access, identify the required resources based on the application’s configured parallelism and requests, transform bounded or unbounded streams of data, and virtually make the applications leverage the CPUs, main memory, disk, and network IO. Features include support for stream and batch processing, state management, event-time processing semantics, failure recovery mechanism, anomaly detection, and rule-based alerting.
