Apache Ranger is a Hadoop-based framework designed for data security professionals. It enables users to monitor and manage comprehensive data security across the Hadoop platform, run multiple workloads in a multi-tenant environment, centralize security administration to manage all security-related tasks in a central UI or using REST APIs, manage and standardize action and operation authorization, control role-based access control, and centralize audits of user access and security-related administrative actions. Features include HDP stack support, cryptographic key management capability, authorization management, REST API capability, and attribute management.
