Azure SQL Managed Instance is a fully managed SQL Server database engine designed for database administrators. It enables users to deploy new managed instances automatically, discover, track, and remediate potential vulnerabilities, update and delete instance properties, monitor and write database events to an audit log file placed in the Azure storage account, streamline database activity and compliance management, and limit sensitive data exposure by masking data to non-privileged users. Features include cross-database queries, linked server, compute-level isolation, data encryption, workload management, and built-in auditing and information protection.
