IBM Gentran (formerly Sterling Gentran) is an electronic data interchange (EDI) and data translation solution designed for Windows clients or server environments. It enables users to monitor the activity of the system through Mailbox Service, map data to areas inside or outside enterprises, trade complex documents, manage data flow to and from the system, as well as point-and-click establishing any mapping relationships. Features include open architecture, process control, mapping and data translation acceleration, trading partner setup and maintenance, and local or global communication.
