Nortel Meridian (is now Avaya CS1000) is a private branch exchange telephone switching system designed for communication applications. It enables users to store the telephony and customer databases and options through call servers, determine the CODEC selection based on the type of call and available bandwidth, identify registers through Virtual TN and IP address, locate the TN of the endpoint and manage the connection, establish the voice travel from IP Set to IP Set, configure digital channel and integrated analog ports, as well as accelerate Media Gateway to allocate a TDM/IP resources. Features include Pseudo TTY Port (PTY) support, terminal proxy server (TPS) capability, LAN communication capability, computer telephony integration (CTI) support, multiple appearance directory numbers (MADNs), digit manipulation, least-cost routing automation, and supplemental digital restriction capability.
