Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) is a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) based directory solution designed for database administrators. It enables users to create an integrated view of multiple data sources, eliminate the need to change existing infrastructure or applications while adding new ones, as well as share the data that resides in the own repository of organizations while retaining full control of it and monitoring its usage. Features include industry-standard LDAP and XML views, LDAPv2/v3 support, HTTP/XSLT Gateway support, encryption and strong authentication with TLSv1 and SSLv3 support, dynamic mapping of information and schema in multiple directories, local schema support, and multiple directories without synchronization.
