Panasas pNFS is a high-performance computing (HPC) data storage solution designed for HPC workloads. It enables users to automatically adjust the storage to the changing file sizes and workloads, maintain several types of metadata about files, including typical user-visible information such as owner, size, and modification time, dynamically and logically cluster the directors into active-active configurations, identify the healthy nodes and respond to cluster node failures, as well as monitor and handle hardware, configurations, and software updates. Features include automated capacity balancing, cluster management, realm management, report generation, workload processing, and block-level metadata management.
