Starburst Presto (now Trino) is a distributed SQL query engine designed for data engineers, analysts, and scientists. It enables users to execute analytical queries across several data resources regardless of where the data resides, control authorized access to pieces of the data, virtually combine and analyze the historical data, and compute and manage big analytic workloads. Features include distributed query processing, in-memory parallel processing, pipelined execution, multithreaded execution model, query optimizer, and data encryption support.
