Teradata Vantage Advanced SQL Engine, formerly Teradata Database, is a relational database management system (RDBMS) designed for database administrators. It enables users to store and process geospatial data, store and analyze data in the data warehouse, automatically define workloads based on business needs, develop prioritization strategies according to business rules, separate system resources into virtual partitions for departments, geographic regions, or funding models, and store a series of points with timestamp information to understand and analyze movement tracked by GPS. Features include ad-hoc query performance management, mixed workload management, mainframe integration, data analytics, cost-based optimizer, and user-defined SQL operators.
