Future Islands is an American synth-pop band based in Baltimore, Maryland, formed in January 2006. The band consists of Gerrit Welmers on keyboards and programming, William Cashion on bass and guitars, Samuel T. Herring on lyrics and vocals, and Michael Lowry on percussion. They gained significant recognition with their 2014 album *Singles*, particularly for the hit single "Seasons (Waiting on You)," which received acclaim from music critics and was highlighted by their memorable live performance on the *Late Show with David Letterman*.
