The South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (SCMEP) is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1989. It became independent in 1996 and operates as an affiliate of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). SCMEP's mission is to enhance the competitiveness and profitability of South Carolina's manufacturing sector.
