About Ikonos

Ikonos is a notable satellite imaging product line operated by GeoEye, now part of Maxar Technologies. Launched in 1999, it was the first commercial satellite to provide sub-meter resolution imagery, significantly advancing remote sensing technology. The Ikonos satellite system captured high-resolution multispectral and panchromatic images of the Earth's surface until its decommissioning in 2015, collecting nearly 200 million square kilometers of imagery during its mission.
