Founded in 1982 by Dan McConnell, the company has experienced several ownership changes over the years, including acquisitions by Brentwood Securities, Kemper Financial, and First American National Bank. In 2000, it became part of AmSouth Bank and later a subsidiary of National Planning Holdings.
