Sanders Morris was founded in 1987 to formulate a financial services firm that could not only capitalize on investment opportunities – but could actually create them. Sanders Morris Harris began "Investment in Common", a philosophy where the principals of Sanders Morris Harris would invest alongside that of their clients (wherever similar goals) to ensure alignment, focus and shared risk.
