About Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service

The Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) is a nonprofit organization focused on providing free civil legal assistance to low-income individuals in Maryland. Its mission is to remove systemic barriers to justice, particularly for underrepresented communities. MVLS connects clients with over 1,600 volunteer attorneys, CPAs, and tax professionals to address various legal issues, including family law, housing disputes, and criminal record expungement.
